What are PEELS used for?

Your skin is the largest living organ. It comprises millions cells in the top layer (epidermis) and its nourishment/support network (dermis). Each day, thousands of these cells die and are shed from the skin surface. They are then replenished by new cells from

 below. We call it cellular turn-over, and it takes around 28 days for the deepest cells to reach the outermost layer. With ageing or in some conditions (like extensive sun exposure!) this process slows down and leads to various skin conditions. The purpose

 of a facial chemical peel is to increase the cell turn over by controlled shedding of the damaged skin, leaving behind a new, fresher layer of skin. There are multiple peel types at various strengths. At Almeda Aesthetic we use non-peeling peels, that means

 the shedding is not visible, however it’s still active underneath.
